CLASS: Exploring Nature in Watercolor & Gouache
Taking inspiration from the pioneering entomologist, naturalist, and scientific illustrator Maria Sibylla Merian, students will provide photos of their own choosing to design and paint a scientific illustration exploring the relationships between local plants and insects. We will begin by taking a walk in the gardens to observe nature and take our own reference photos. Over 4 weeks, students will practice observational drawing, as well as watercolor and gouache techniques. Materials are provided, but students are encouraged to bring a sketchbook and their own supplies. A list of recommended materials will be provided upon registration.
This is a 4-week class that meets on Tuesdays, October 6-October 27 from 10 AM-12:30 PM.
$150 ($175 for not-yet-members)
